Whole-House Multi-Room Audio

Different music in the kitchen, the bathroom and the garden — or one album everywhere — grouped and controlled from a single app. Zones are tuned individually so every room sounds right at its own volume.

The service

What we deliver

Music that moves with your day: radio in the kitchen at breakfast, focus playlists in the office, the same album everywhere when friends arrive. Multi-room audio joins every zone into one system controlled from a single app — with each room tuned to sound its best at its own volume.

We design the zone map around how you live, blend architectural speakers with wireless where each makes sense, and group everything logically so control feels obvious from the first day.

What's included

  • Zone design around your actual routines
  • Wired and wireless zones blended sensibly
  • Independent volume and source per room
  • Instant party-grouping of every zone
  • Streaming services and radio configured
  • Simple app control for the whole household

From brief to delivery

Whole-house audio needs zone planning so every room can be independent without becoming a separate system

We group rooms around how they are used, then coordinate speakers, amplification, network and control so music can follow the household or remain completely separate by zone.

What we resolve before work starts

The key design choice is where independence matters. A kitchen and terrace may often play together, while bedrooms or home offices may need separate volume and sources.

  • Room/zone grouping and independent volume requirements
  • Speaker type and quantity by room size
  • Central versus distributed amplification
  • Network and streaming-platform requirements
  • Outdoor or bathroom zones needing environment-appropriate equipment

What a proper handover should include

Every zone should have an obvious name and a simple way to play, group and stop audio.

  • All rooms/zones named consistently
  • Grouping and ungrouping demonstrated
  • Independent volume and source behaviour checked
  • Streaming accounts connected under client ownership
  • Equipment location and network dependency explained

Delivery sequence

How this service moves from idea to finished work

01

Zone map

We mark every room that needs audio and decide which spaces commonly operate together.

02

Speaker & infrastructure design

Speaker positions, amplification, cabling and network are sized for the zone plan.

03

Installation

Cables, speakers and equipment are installed before or alongside final decoration where possible.

04

System tuning

Each room is level-matched and the client is shown how to combine or separate zones quickly.

Why it is worth planning properly

One audio platform can make a large home feel simpler rather than more technical

Independent rooms

Different users can listen to different content at different volumes where the chosen system supports it.

House-wide moments

Selected zones can be grouped for entertaining without manually pairing speakers room by room.

Less visible hardware

Amplification and sources can often be centralised while only speakers and simple controls remain in the rooms.

Key decisions

What shapes the scope

Which rooms need independent sources, maximum listening level, visible versus hidden speakers, TV integration, garden zones, preferred streaming services and whether equipment should be centralised are the main choices.

Budget & programme

What usually moves cost or timing

Number of rooms, speaker grade, amplification channels, long cable routes, outdoor/bathroom equipment and control platform drive cost. Central systems can require more first-fix cabling but reduce visible electronics in rooms.

Why it pays off

What you gain

Music in every room

Play the same track through the whole house or something different in every zone, all from one app. The kitchen, study and bathroom finally get the same treatment as the sitting room.

Independent zones, one system

Each room keeps its own volume and source, so the radio in the kitchen never fights the playlist in the snug. Group rooms together with a tap when you're entertaining.

No boxes, no wires

Amplifiers and streamers live out of sight in a cupboard or rack, and speakers sit flush in ceilings and walls. All you see is the room.

How it works

Three steps, no surprises

01

Design the zones

We walk the house with you, agree which rooms get audio and how you actually listen, then map out zones, speaker positions and a discreet home for the equipment.

02

Install invisibly

Speaker cable runs through floors, walls and ceiling voids — during first fix on a renovation, or with careful lifting and making good in a finished home. Everything is racked neatly out of sight.

03

Tune and hand over

We balance every zone at real listening levels, name the rooms sensibly in the app and walk the whole household through the controls before we leave.

Sound familiar?

Asked for every week

List the rooms where audio matters and which ones you expect to play together most often. We will turn that into a zone plan before choosing speaker models.

  • Six-zone audio across kitchen, sitting room, study and bedrooms in a Victorian terrace
  • Whole-house system wired in during a full refurbishment, with amplifiers hidden under the stairs
  • Kitchen-diner, snug and master en-suite zones with flush ceiling speakers
  • Garden terrace added as an extra zone on an existing multi-room system
  • Humidity-rated bathroom speakers tied into the landing and bedroom zones
  • Wall keypads and app control commissioned for a five-bedroom family home

Good to know

Common questions

Sonos or wired — which is better?

Wireless platforms like Sonos are superb for retrofits and flexibility; wired architectural systems edge ahead for permanence and invisible aesthetics. Most homes get our hybrid: wired where we can, wireless where it's smarter.

Can zones wake us gently as alarms?

Yes — bedroom zones can fade in radio or playlists at set times, at set volumes, weekdays only if you like. It's a genuinely pleasant way to be woken.
