Curtains, Blinds & Soft Furnishings

Made-to-measure curtains and blinds in fabrics chosen with you, hung on proper tracks and dressed so they fall beautifully — with cushions, throws and rugs that pull the scheme together.

The service

What we deliver

Windows dressed properly transform a room — full-height curtains that pool just so, blinds that fit the reveal like they grew there, and fabrics that tie the whole scheme together. Made-to-measure is the difference between 'nearly' and 'exactly'.

We measure, recommend fabrics and headings, have everything made to order, then fit tracks and poles solidly and dress each window before we leave. Cushions, throws and rugs complete the layering.

What's included

  • Measuring and fabric consultation at home
  • Made-to-measure curtains, romans and rollers
  • Tracks and poles fitted into solid fixings
  • Linings for blackout, thermal and acoustic needs
  • Cushions, throws and rugs to finish the scheme
  • Steaming and dressing on installation day

From brief to delivery

Window treatments have to solve privacy, daylight, proportion and fabric behaviour at the same time

We measure accurately, choose the treatment around the window and room, then coordinate track, heading, lining, drop and final dressing so curtains and blinds hang properly rather than merely fit the opening.

What we resolve before work starts

The right solution depends on how the window is used, what must be blocked or filtered, and how much stack-back space is available. Fabric is selected after those physical constraints are understood.

  • Recess, reveal and full-window measurements
  • Privacy, blackout, glare and thermal priorities
  • Curtain heading, track or pole position and stack-back
  • Fabric weight, pattern repeat, lining and fullness
  • Relationship to radiators, furniture and opening windows or doors

What a proper handover should include

Soft furnishings should arrive dressed and adjusted, not left for the client to work out after installation.

  • Curtain drops and hems checked against the floor or sill
  • Tracks, poles and blind mechanisms tested
  • Pattern alignment and pair matching inspected
  • Cushions, rugs or throws placed where included
  • Care, cleaning and operating information provided for the selected products

Delivery sequence

How this service moves from idea to finished work

01

Measure & functional brief

We establish privacy, blackout, light-filtering and practical requirements before fabric selection.

02

Fabric & treatment design

Heading, lining, fullness, hardware and textile are specified together so the treatment suits the scale of the room.

03

Manufacture & installation

Made-to-measure items are produced and fitted to the agreed positions.

04

Dress & final adjustment

Curtains are dressed, blinds levelled and soft accessories positioned to complete the room.

Why it is worth planning properly

Well-scaled window treatments can correct room proportions as well as control light

Better privacy without permanent darkness

Sheers, blinds and lined curtains can be layered so daytime privacy and night-time closure are handled differently.

More considered proportions

High or wide track positions can visually change how a window sits within the wall when the architecture allows it.

A softer acoustic and visual room

Textiles can reduce visual hardness and help a furnished space feel more complete and comfortable.

Key decisions

What shapes the scope

Privacy level, blackout, fabric, maintenance, children/pets, opening direction, radiator position, track type, motorisation and whether the treatment should disappear or become a feature are the key choices.

Budget & programme

What usually moves cost or timing

Fabric quantity, pattern repeat, lining, bespoke tracks, difficult high-level installation, motorisation and premium trims are major variables. Lead time depends heavily on textile availability and made-to-measure production.

Why it pays off

What you gain

Made-to-Measure Precision

Every curtain and blind is measured and fitted to the millimetre, so windows look properly dressed rather than simply covered.

Fabrics That Tie It Together

Curtains, cushions, throws and upholstery are chosen as one scheme, pulling the whole room together instead of competing with it.

Warmth, Quiet and Privacy

Lined and interlined fabrics soften sound, keep warmth in and give privacy from the street without making rooms feel dark.

How it works

Three steps, no surprises

01

Measure & Fabric Consultation

We measure every window precisely and bring fabric books to your home, so you can judge colour, weight and drape in your own light.

02

Workroom Making

Curtains, blinds and cushions are made to order by experienced workrooms, with headings, linings and trims agreed before work begins.

03

Fitting & Dressing

Tracks, poles and blinds are fitted cleanly, curtains are hung and dressed so they fall correctly, and every mechanism is demonstrated before we go.

Asked for every week

Tell us what the window treatment needs to do first — privacy, blackout, soften the room, frame a view or solve a difficult opening. We will select the format before narrowing fabric choices.

  • Full-height interlined curtains for a bay window
  • Blackout roman blinds for children's bedrooms
  • Motorised blinds for tall or hard-to-reach windows
  • Replace dated vertical blinds with crisp romans or rollers
  • Coordinated cushions, throws and headboard for a main bedroom
  • Sheer layers for street-facing rooms that need privacy and daylight

Common questions

Made-to-measure or ready-made?

Ready-made suits standard windows on a budget; made-to-measure earns its cost on anything tall, wide, bay or unusual — and in fabric choice. We'll tell you honestly which your windows justify.

Do you do blackout for bedrooms?

Yes — blackout linings, interlined curtains and cassette blinds that seal light at the edges. For shift workers and children's rooms we combine layers for near-total darkness.
